- Nissan Motor Company posted record losses for the fiscal year ending March 31, 1999. Its losses totaled $230 million dollars.
- An all-new Range Rover is due to go on sale sometime in 2001. The New Range Rover will be wider, taller, and longer than the current model and based on the new BMW X5 platform. Along with a full independant suspension, the new truck will also offer a 3.5/4.4 liter V-8, a 5.4 liter V-12, and a 4.0 liter V-8 turbodiesel.
- Sources report that BMW is currently developing a V-8 powered M3 that will use a version of the new M5's 400 hp V-8.
- In September of this year, the Toyota Camry will be offered in a natrual gas powered version. Toyota claims that the CNG Camry will have a range of 270 miles without a refill.
